Like something that could be blown away with a little "poof" of breath, a "piffle" or something that is "piffling" is defined as seemingly insignificant or of little importance. BUT similar to the grain of mustard that as faith can move a mountain or uproot a tree, the "PIF" can move or squeeze out good and cause untold damage.
God does not want "PIF" to be in our relationships. But there are many examples found in our churches and families. To begin combating this insidious evil that separates and destroys loving relationships and caring hearts, four biblical Truths need to be acknowledged.
1) We are called to glorify God.
2) We are called to love.
3) We have been warned of the Satanic battle.
4) We are given the necessary tools for this battle.
"Since we, God's children, are human beings - made of flesh and blood - He became flesh and blood too by being born in human form; for only as a human being could He die and in dying break the power of the devil who had the power of death. Only in that way could He deliver those who through fear of death have been living all their lives as slaves to constant dread." (Hebrews 2:14-15)
"PIF" can be seen in little children and in adults. There is no age limit. So how do we get rid of "PIF"? What needs to happen? Recognizing the forces of evil and how fear, ignorance, and pride intermingle begins the process of winning this battle.
Four biblical steps are presented to help you move away from " PIF" and into real relationships with family and friends. You do not need to hide behind a hard exterior.
Come and join in something that is "well pleasing" to God.
