God knows our burdens. He knows we tend to carry too much. And sometimes we carry the wrong things. We carry things that can hurt us. Into this scenario comes God who offers the wisdom necessary to make wise choices. This wisdom and the help it brings is found through reading and accepting His words. We will not find help in addictions such as food, alcohol, sex, shopping, exercise, gambling, or work. These substitutes for fulfilling Truth always eventually fail.
Sometimes our feelings will tell us otherwise ...
"If you would eat that chocolate cake you'd feel better!"
"If you bought that boat you'd really be happy."
"If you have a couple drinks you'll be OK!"
Acknowledge your feelings, they are real feelings, but don't listen to them! Don't let your feelings rule your life. Learn that feelings always follow actions. If you act in healthy responsible ways, you WILL feel better! If you act in unhealthy irresponsible ways, you WILL always end up feeling worse.
Transforming Truth is learning what is absolutely true. What the Bible says about you is not going to change. 150 Scriptures are listed with accompanying narrative, and the very power of God's names will offer you additional peace and reassurance.
Three examples of Truth ...
"I am raised up with Christ Jesus ..." (Ephesians 2:6)
"I am chosen ..." (John 15:16, 19; Ephesians 1:4)
"I have God's song with me ..." (Psalm 42:8)
As you learn "Who I Am" in Christ, you are set free to be a transformed, new creation. Praise and Glory to God.
